About S.R. Lane

Medium: Digital Impressionistic Photography

S.R. Lane is an award winning professional photographer. She was born and raised in Seattle, WA. She started taking photos when she was a child, using her Grandmother's Polaroid camera. She later studied film photography at Shoreline Community College in 1999. She enjoyed taking hundreds of photos of family, friends and beloved pets in her early years, then moving on to nature landscapes she found on walking adventures.

She graduated Western Washington University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2003. Since then, S.R. Lane has been selected to display her artwork at over 15 city art walks across the greater Puget Sound region. In just one year she has been asked to display her work in over eight art walks, and two juried art shows. Winning the Audience Award Favorite at the PNA Member & Volunteer Art Show in July 2018 for her work “Old Salty”. Which was also featured in the Everett Herald newspaper Art section in July 2019 for the gallery exhibition listing.

S.R uses her Canon and Nikon digital camera to take photos of flowers, nature scenes, architecture and found objects. She then edits the images to mimic the look of an abstract or watercolor art piece by using Instagram and Fotor editing applications.
